This month, we’re recognising Nigel Cottrill, our Chief Financial Officer, for his ongoing contribution and the impact he continues to have at Wallis Drilling.
Nigel first joined Wallis seeking a smaller, family-run business where he could truly feel part of the team – and it didn’t take long for that feeling to become reality.
When reflecting on his time with us, Nigel shared some memorable moments and insights.
His best memory:
“Eating snails in duck fat, having a beer, and watching the sun go down with Jamie Wallis in New Caledonia.”
Best advice:
“Stick with it. Every business has its ups and downs, but at Wallis the ups far outweigh the downs – and you’re with a company that pulls together during the tough times and remembers those who helped through the lean times.”
What’s changed the most:
“Our rosters. They used to be 4 or 6 weeks, which was tough on families. The shift to 2-week rosters has made a huge difference to work–life balance.”
His favourite watch of the past year? Foundation — a top pick worth noting!
