Health Safety & Environment


The Company operates under an Integrated Management System which includes accreditation in AS/NZS 4801-2001 Occupational Health and Safety, Management, the ISO 9001-2000 Quality System and the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.

It is Wallis Drilling’s policy to seek and provide a safe and healthy working environment for all employees. This is done not only to comply with the law, but to prevent injury, ill health, damage or loss arising from any part of our operation. The Company is accredited in AS/NZS 4801-2001 Occupational Health and Safety Management and ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems which provide the framework for the safe and healthy framework.

A Safety, Health and Environmental Management Plan (SHEMP) is developed for each contract to ensure Wallis Drilling meet their legal obligations, the requirements under AS/NZS 4801-2001 and ISO 14001  and to assist  the Client in meeting their legislative requirements under state mining or petroleum acts.

Wallis Drilling manages their incidents and hazards  through a dedicated web enabled Safety, Training and  Environment Management System called STEMS. STEMS also manages and tracks actions from a variety of sources such as audits, inspections and incidents.

Where injury or illness does occur, it is Wallis Drilling’s policy to ensure appropriate resources are utilized to ensure their employees return to work at the earliest opportunity.
