Wallis Drilling offers a complete service for mine site drilling and blasting requirements including:
• Blast Hole Drilling
• Shot Firing
• Explosives Management, Security and Emergency Response in accordance with DMP statutory requirements and code of practice
Drill crews are trained and qualified to a nationally recognised level (DRT2 and DRT3) for drillers and offsiders and are supported by experienced on-site drilling supervisors, maintenance and engineering staff and management. Many staff members have been with the Company for over 10 years, with some for over 20 and 30 years.
The mine services drill fleet includes Schramm, Atlas Copco, Drill Tech, Sandvik and Wallis designed and built drill rigs. The mine services drill fleet is available on either all wheel drive vehicles or tracked carriers and is supported with dedicated service and maintenance trucks.
The drill fleet is capable of drilling from 152mm to 300mm to a maximum depth of 48 metres. Standard safety features fitted to the drill fleet include rod carousel, rod loaders, fire suppression, drill rod clamps, full access walkways and access points, dust suppression, sound proofing and lockable isolation points.
